Obtain a tuber or bunch of the raw starchy staple
Peel the skin and cut the edible part into small sizes
Cut and wash pieces with clean water
Arrange the cut pieces in a pan
Add water to the top level of the cut pieces arranged in the pan
Add salt using your fingers, eyes and culinary instinct to measure

Let it boil for a while, then use your finger to press a piece to check if it is soft
When well cooked, take the pan off the stove and drain the stock out
Set the cooked dish in a plantain leaf ready to be served.
